Feature Film Director

Shanghai Cartoon is seeking an experienced 2D feature film director candidate with respectable (name brand) film credits from the US. Our feature film will have distribution in theatres in China and possibly find distribution internationally. Our film will be an international property, though our base is definitely the Chinese market. Candidate’s credits for direct-to-videos are perfectly acceptable, if they are ‘name brand’ properties.

Here is a description of the position:

         -contract is 18 months, from start to completion.

         -involves working on-site in the city of Shanghai

         -good quality housing provided near our stylish office which is conveniently near downtown.
         -storyboard skills highly desired.

         -involves some work with staff in our studio, as well as outsource team.

         -We want a passionate team player from the West who is open minded and ready for a new experience, overseas.

         -Successful candidate will also have 2 weeks off during contract, with 1 return air fare.

The city of Shanghai is the ‘next big thing’ and is a fairly Westernized place with countless Western restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.
Shanghai is hosting the World Expo 2010 and is a very friendly city; the People here warmly welcome visitors from home and abroad.

A brand new Disneyland will begin construction here soon.

Animation Film Writer

Shanghai Cartoon is seeking an experienced animation film writer candidate with respectable (name brand) film credits from the US. Our feature film will have distribution in theatres in China and possibly find distribution internationally. Our film will be an international property, though our base is definitely the Chinese market. Candidate’s credits for direct-to-videos are perfectly acceptable, if they are ‘name brand’ properties.

Here is a description of the position:

         -contract is for completed script, from start to completion.

         -involves a month or so of working on-site in the city of Shanghai; possibly more time if needed.

         -good quality housing provided near our stylish office which is conveniently near downtown.
